An expansion joint or movement joint is an assembly designed to safely absorb heat-induced expansion and contraction of bridge deck materials, absorb continuous traffic vibrations, and allow controlled movement due to wind, temperature variation or ground settlements.
Our steel strip expansion joints incorporate high-grade chloroprene rubber sealing profiles locked between machined edge beams with heavy anchorage loops anchored securely into bridge deck concrete. Provides 100% watertight protection to prevent deck runoff from deteriorating substructure piers.
